A band I randomly discovered today. Can’t remember how. But it’s a pretty great tune.
Ah, the wonders of Twitter. Thanks to a post by The Rest this afternoon, I just discovered The Dirty Nil. They sound absolutely nothing like The Rest (whose new album you really need to get), but that’s not a bad thing. Despite being from Hamilton, Ontario, they actually remind me of a number of bands coming out of Nashville recently — loud, beer-driven good time rock and roll.
Check out their new video for “Fucking Up Young” below, and if you dig that, download their summer mixtape for free at BandCamp. I dig it a lot.
Two new videos from Denton, Texas’ kick-ass Video. If you don’t know them, you may recognize the singer, TV’s Daniel, from a couple of my other favorite bands around right now, Mind Spiders and Bad Sports.
“Nothing Lasts Forever”
One of my favorite bands around right now. Can’t wait to hear WWIII.
Wanna know what my “wheelhouse” is musically? THIS is my fucking wheelhouse. Via The Big Beat radio show.
Two brand new videos from one of my favorite young bands. Hope they come back through the U.S. before long.
Brand new video from Chicago’s fantastic Inspector Owl, whose new album is finally available. Really dig these guys, and they’re even better live. Catch ’em if you can.
First video from the brand new Mystery Jets album Radlands. The album came out in the UK last week and can be ordered via Amazon.uk (mine should be here any day). Alternatively, it comes out here in the U.S. in early June. But seriously, why wait?

An idea what you’re in for:
New video from one of my favorite bands around right now. If you haven’t seen Mean Jeans live yet, fix that at your first opportunity. You won’t have more fun doing anything this year that doesn’t involve someone else’s genitals.
Order the band’s ballin’ new record here.
Sorry that the only Soundcloud link I could find has a NSFW image.
Actually found a widget on the Amazing Radio site with 2 different songs from the band. Check it out.
If you were in Austin last week and you didn’t catch Oakland’s The Wrong Words, well, you’re an idiot. And if this band doesn’t come to Chicago soon (the home of their label, Trouble In Mind), well, they’re idiots. (I’m using the word “idiots” loosely today.)
Anyway, check out this video and then write the band an email and tell them to come visit us in Illinois.
