Emma Pollock, “Hug the Harbour”
Emma Pollock is set to release her second solo album, The Law of Large Numbers, on March 2nd via the Chemikal Underground label.
The album marks both a return to the label that Emma and her previous band, The Delgados called home for many years, as well as a return to the darker edge of that band.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked Watch the Fireworks, but if it hadn’t been Emma I’m not sure I would have listened to it as much as I did. The new album, on the other hand, reminds me of what I loved about The Delgados, and that’s a damn fine thing.
Tour dates are apparently forthcoming, but it looks from Emma’s website that she’ll be playing in the U.K. in mid-March… in other words, no SXSW. Oh well.
