Because you can never have enough Robert Pollard/Guided By Voices cast-off songs, Pollard is set to release Suitcase 3 – a collection of 100 songs from the mid-90s to the present – on November 3rd.
The collection includes four CDs of music, including a fourth disc of “impromptu Guided By Voices jams recorded by Pollard, Tobin Sprout and Greg Demos”.
While I’m not hopeful about the “impromptu” part, odds are I’ll shell out the $28 for this simply because it has Bob and Tobin music I’ve never heard before. And, honestly, the two advance songs (see above) are pretty good.
Suitcase 3 is available for pre-order for $28, or you can instead order Briefcase 3 – supposedly the 21 “best” songs from the collection plus an exclusive track – for $16. Both are available at Pollard’s Factory of Raw Essentials online store.
