New Music From The Rest!
I’ve been pretty vocal over the last few months about how much I love the new album, Everyone All At Once, from Hamilton, Ontario’s The Rest. If you haven’t had a chance to hear it yet, you really ought to stop everything you’re doing (including reading this blog) and either listen to a few songs at the band’s MySpace page or, better yet, go buy the album.
Anyway, I just got word from the band that they’re working on a really cool project involving a brand new EP that’s accompanied by an illustrated novel called The Cried Wolf Book. The EP will include 4 songs and “will chronicle the life of the boy who cried wolf as an adult.” The book is being illustrated by the band’s friend, MLXNDRSC. Very cool.
You can check out the first section of the book, as well as the band’s cover of the Robyn song “With Every Heartbeat”, RIGHT NOW. The next section of the book will then be released online on November 1st, and I’ll post the link for that as soon as I have it.
Oh, and before I forget, those of you in the U.K. should be sure to catch the band’s short U.K. tour next week, which includes shows at The Old Blue Last on October 12th, The Lexington on October 13th, and 229 on October 14th. The tour is in support of the October 12th UK release of Everyone All At Once. Go, my British friends, go!
