I did not hear good things about Cymbols Eat Guitars which I found a little surprising. On the other hand, I heard Sinta was better than expected and Title Tracks were outstanding. I listen to them on MySpace quite a bit. I think John Davis finally found the right mix.
BTW, the girl in Sinta is quite cute as is the keyboardist for Title Tracks, no?
Yeah, I forgot to do a wrapup of the show, yet again. Oops.
Anyway, yes, was a fan of both the girl in Sinta as well as Meredith in TT. The Sinta kids all had huge X’s on their hands, though, so though I do love the younger ladies, I think she might be a tad too young.
As for the music side of things, I agree with everything you heard. CEG were pretty disappointing — not that they weren’t good musicians, which they are, but the songs really didn’t do much for me. Guess that’s why the album has sat on my hard drive for months without being listened to. One or two songs were good, but the rest were pretty boring. As I said on Twitter, the best parts were their spazz/freakouts. The rest, not so much.
Sinta were pretty good for a young band I’d never heard before. The singer’s voice was really good.
Title Tracks, however, were great. They literally have gotten better each time I’ve seen them (4 times now, I think). Can’t wait for the album to finally come out.
yeah, title tracks are really hitting their stride. two thumbs up. hope the record sees the light of day soon. CEG were aight. no real standout melodies though. after each TT song i could hum you the main part but with CEG, no. also, i was checking updates on the cavs/magic game the entire time, so maybe that had something to do with it. i’ve certainly seen much worse.

Oh, and just to be clear, CEG’s song “Wind Phoenix” is fantastic, and served as both the set-closer as well as the clear standout of their set.
