So I mentioned the other day that this weekend (5/9-10) is the First Annual Applefest down in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

And I think I also mentioned that I was leaning toward going down for the second day of the festival to see Sean Walsh and the National Reserve and ¡Carlos, I’m Pregnant!.

Well, I wanted to make sure you understood why that is.

As for Sean Walsh and the National Reserve, I already introduced you to them a few months back.  They put on one of the best live shows I’ve seen this year, and given that this is their first trip back to the DC/Va area since that show, I have no intention of missing them.

And as for ¡Carlos, I’m Pregnant!… well, I’ve heard their name for a while now through the guys in Tereu Tereu, but I just recently got an opportunity to hear a song from them… and absolutely it blew me away.

Seriously, I’m not sure if I’ve heard a more exciting, exuberant, catchy rock song this year.  Or maybe longer.  Listen for yourself:

The band doesn’t have an album yet, and in fact only have this song and 2 rougher demos up on their MySpace page, but if this song is any indication of what we can expect from these guys, you’re going to be hearing their name from publications bigger that this one very, very soon.

So do yourself a favor this weekend and jump in the car and head down to Fredericksburg.  And, hey, you can even go to Waffle House after the show.  I know I will.
