Bottomless Pit is (Kinda) Touring!

Bottomless Pit, “Dogtag”

I hate to say it, but it’s been a while since I’ve thought of the name Bottomless Pit.

The band, which features Tim Midgett and Andy Cohen from the dearly-departed Silkworm (one of my favorite bands ever), formed in 2005 following the untimely death of Silkworm drummer Michael Dahlquist, and has since released two EPs and one LP. Since releasing the Congress EP early last year, however, the band has been pretty quiet.

Anyway, my friend Matt emailed me this afternoon about a free show the band is playing in Chicago next month, and it occurred to me that I hadn’t looked in on the band’s website in quite a while. And what did I discover when I finally went there? New tour dates!

Sadly, they’re again missing DC, but they’re also skipping NYC and the rest of the Northeast too, so I guess I don’t feel too bad. If you’re in one of these lucky few towns, though, you gotta see this band.

Bottomless Pit Tour Dates
Wed., 5/13: Bloomington, IN (Bear’s Place)
Thu., 5/14: Columbus, OH (The Treehouse w/ The Kyle Sowashes)
Fri., 5/15: Pittsburgh, PA (31st St. Pub w/ The Karl Hendricks Rock Band)
Sat., 5/16: Toledo, OH (Frankie’s)
Sun., 6/28: Chicago, IL (Schuba’s w/ The Poison Arrows – FREE SHOW, early start)
