Wow. I cannot believe how many shows The Deep Vibration are playing between now and the end of May. It’s ridiculous.

But it’s also a great opportunity for each and every one of you reading this blog to check out what might just be my favorite musical discovery of the year. (I don’t take credit for discovering them — I’ll give credit to WOXY for that.) Seriously, if you haven’t heard their recent Lounge Act with WOXY yet, stop whatever you’re doing and go listen to it now. It’s 25 of the best minutes you’ll spend this week.

As for the band’s tour, they’ve got a ton of shows on their own throughout March (including SXSW), and then they hit the road with the excellent Roman Candle for six weeks starting on April 13th in Indianapolis.

As I mentioned on Twitter last night, and as I’ll be talking about in more detail in the coming weeks, that tour will bring them through DC on May 19th at DC9, where they’ll team up with Tereu Tereu and another of my favorite recent discoveries, Motel Motel. (Suppose we should have tried to get Takka Takka and Mother Mother as well. Next time.) I expect everyone within reading distance of this blog to be there. But like I said, more on that show soon.
