Motel Motel & Illinois @ DC9 [3/3/09]
So Motel Motel was really good, despite having some technical issues and a slightly shortened set. Very glad I got tipped to them a couple of days ago. They played a bunch of songs they said were new (I had to take them at their word), most of which had a much stronger Americana feel to them than I expected. Hell, they even had a slide guitar.
Be sure to catch them if you can. If my info is correct, they should be back through DC in a couple of months.
Illinois, on the other hand, didn’t do a whole lot for me. Nothing terrible, mind you, but just a tad boring.
That’s now 4 bands down, with 96 to go. Easy peasy Japanesey.
