Greatest Video Ever #322
Thanks to Stereogum for reminding me of the greatness that was (is?) Lionel Richie. When I was 9, you simply could not avoid the guy. Shameful admission #2 of the day – my mother and stepfather used “Hello” as their first song at their wedding. And somehow they’re still married 23 years later.
While nowhere near as melodramatic and creepy as the video for “Hello”, this video reminds us of the long-lost power of the music video to bring morons of all colors and ethnicities together to dance to bad music.
